About Thomas M. Bonan

Thomas was honored in 2025 as the Florida Bar’s Consumer Protection Attorney of the Year. Over the past decade, Thomas has focused on holding companies accountable for various debt and credit violations. He has litigated hundreds of cases in both state and federal courts, including a landmark federal appeal before an en banc panel. See Hunstein v. Preferred Collection & Mgmt. Servs., Inc., 48 F.4th 1236, 1237 (11th Cir. 2022). In 2025, Thomas secured a $1.5 million jury verdict in favor of a Hardee County resident who was victimized by a fraudulent solar loan.
Outside the courtroom, Thomas also works hard to ensure his fellow Floridians are protected under the law. In 2025, Thomas spoke publicly to a Florida Senate subcommittee and successfully convinced them to reject an evisceration of the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.
Thomas graduated from Stetson University College of Law after earning his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami Honors College. Thomas is a lifelong Floridian from a family of attorneys, and he enjoys cooking, playing with his rescue dogs, and attending sporting events when he is not working.
